This piece for solo violin is in a way a reflection of different aspects of both my relationship to my own main instrument, the violin, but also a reflection of my relationship to the works for solo violin by earlier composers. In the opening sequence of the piece, different musical material is presented. Gradually different characters begin to develop and interact. The events grow larger and more expressive and culminate with a return to a version of the original musical statement presented in the beginning. The culmination of the piece is followed by a calm, meditative sequence which in the end of the piece melts into a quotation from Bach.
