The title itself is derived from European mythology. The story tells of a pack of hunting spirits that whiz past the view of an unlucky observer. The unfortunate among us who witness The Wild Hunt are said to be cursed; a negative event will befall the viewer on the day they witness the hunt. However, this work fully encompasses all aspects of any hunting situation. Whether it be a hunt for animals, a manhunt, a hunt to find oneself, or The Wild Hunt of mythology, the piece's fusion of harmonious serenity, energetic rhythms and counterpoint, and the silent tension of hiding/stalking all coincide to create the image of a hunt through the medium of music.
