Arranged in D and G major, these three short movements provide stylistic contrast that is perfect for contest or performance. Alternate parts for the third voice allow this work to be performed as a string trio as well. A good H.S. trio for 3 Violins or 2 Violins and Cello. Based on themes by Faber.
Little is known about Faber, except that he was a 17th century amateur musician. However, these three dance tunes are delightful pieces to serve as a basis for this short suite. All three call for independent rhythmic playing, and lie extremely well for string instruments.
