Composed by David Healy-Richards. Celtic,Classical,Contemporary,Traditional. 11 pages. David Healy-Richards #4805467. Published by David Healy-Richards (A0.1015624).

This short composition is an exercise based on counterpoint and

contrapuntal harmony. It is scored for three flutes and It has been

written in C# Minor. Counterpoint builds texure by taking a number

of melody lines and overlapping them. You will see I have composed

three lines and moved the top and bottom lines in contrary motion

as heard in such polyphony as Thomas Talice's "Spem in Alium"

A mixture between the key signature, the orchestration and the

various time signature jumps gives this piece it's folky feel. I started

my composition in the triad of C# minor and us the melodies developed

I ended up crossing between the chords of F# minor, D# and E minor

these various chords help to keep the piece interesting.
