In a musical context, an Aragonaise (literally a person or thing from Aragon, a region in Spain) is presented here as a section from Massenet’s opera, El Cid. The work will be familiar to young pianists as it is considered to be basic repertoire.  This string orchestra arrangement is in G Major, The upper strings will receive a workout that utilizes G Major scale runs while the cello and bass have relatively easier parts as an accompaniment. A Violin 3 part is included as a substitute or to bolster the viola section.
