Published by David Neff (A0.829031).In 2006, I was asked to introduce the hymn "Blessed Jesus, at Thy Word" (Liebster Jesu) at an American Guild of Organists festival of German hymn tunes. I composed this quiet setting of the famous German hymn tune in an homage to Franz Liszt's organ treatment of the Jacob von Arcadelt setting of the Ave Maria (1862, S.659). I hope I have captured the spirit of Liszt's piece and given it new life in this setting. This chorale prelude is appropriate for any worship service and for wedding prelude music as well.
