Movement 1 is entitled, Starting Line, Movement 2 is entitled, Running the Race, and Movement 3 is entitled, Sigh. As one imagines the ebbs, flows and often conflicting emotions stirred throughout an ordinary day, beginning with a waking alarm and the morning routine lockstep, continuing through an array of lulling melodies and punctuated, syncopated, bold calls to get going, and finally culminating in a soothing, melodious beckoning to stillness, one is invited to play this piece as a reflection of your day. This piece will change color with each new player of it, and that is encouraged. Great for piano students working on dynamics and on stretching their comfort with musical expressiveness, this piece allows room for reflecting on the feelings and experiences of your day and translating that into your playing. This piece is quite long and would be nice for a recital, as well.
