Words by Thomas Chilsholm (1923) who wrote over 1,200 poemsand hymns in his lifetime, while in Vineland, New Jersey. It started as a poemsent to his friend William Runyan, who put it to music. It soon became anunofficial theme song for the Moody Bible Institute. It really became popularwhen sung by George Beverly Shea and choirs at the Billy Graham Crusades.
