Composed for Latin jazz master Ray Baretto, this appealing cha-cha is based around a moderate groove and a very melodic theme. The variety in scoring is beautifully blended between showcasing individual sections interspersed with the power of the full ensemble. Solo space is provided for alto sax followed by trumpet or trombone.

Zet deze aansprekende cha-cha op het programma! Brother Ray werd van oorsprong gecomponeerd voor de latin-jazzmuzikant Ray Barretto, en is gebaseerd op een relaxte groove en een bijzonder melodieus thema. De afwisseling in de partituur is mooi in evenwicht, met zowel individuele partijen als passages voor het complete ensemble. Er is ruimte voor een altsaxofoonsolo, gevolgd door trompet of trombone.
