This piece was written in loving memory of my grandmother, Eleanor. She was a church organist for many years, and one of her favorite offertories to play was the hymn "Be Still, My Soul," otherwise known as Jean Sibelius' Finlandia. This hymn text, together with the text from Psalm 46, tells the comforting message of God's greatness and protection through whatever trial we may face in life. No matter what happens, be still, and know that God is God.
