Equestrian Symphonette was written for the Orchestre d’Harmonie de Laval, France. Laval is the capital town of the department of Mayenne, and the surrounding countryside is home to many thoroughbred race horse stables. The composition incorporates the principal gaits of the horse (walk, trot, canter and gallop) as the musical cornerstones of this work and incorporates into the composition colourful depictions of the natural environment and surroundings as well as the characteristics of each stride. Interesting rhythmical patterns, together with rich melodies, are interwoven throughout this original piece which makes it an excellent choice for a contest or as anenterprising part of your concert.

Equestrian Symphonette werd geschreven voor het Orchestre d’Harmonie de Laval in Frankrijk. In de omgeving van Laval, de hoofdstad van het departement Mayenne, zijn veel maneges waar je kunt paardrijden. De componist heeft daarom de drie belangrijkste gangen van een paard gebruikt (draf, stap en galop) als muzikale pijlers voor dit werk waarbij hij de natuur en omgeving verklankt en tegelijkertijd de kenmerken van elke gang van het paard weergeeft. Door het hele werk heen zijn interessante ritmische patronen geweven, evenals rijke melodieën. Een uitstekende keuze voor uw volgende concert!

Die Equestrian Symphonette wurde für das Orchestre d’Harmonie de Laval aus Frankreich geschrieben. Laval ist die Hauptstadt des Departements Mayenne, und in der Gegend werden zahlreiche Vollblut-Pferderassen gezüchtet. Die Komposition verwendet die wichtigsten Pferdegangarten (Schritt, Trab, Kanter und Galopp) als musikalische Grundsteine des Werkes und beschreibt die Natur und die Umgebung sowie die Besonderheiten der verschiedenen Gangarten. Interessante rhythmische Muster sowie hübsche Melodien sind in diesem Originalwerk, das sich bestens für Wettbewerbe oder als spannender Konzertbeitrag eignet, miteinander verwoben.

Equestrian Symphonette est une commande de l’Orchestre d’Harmonie de Laval en France. La campagne entourant la préfecture de la Mayenne abrite de nombreuses écuries de pur-sang. Le compositeur utilise les trois allures principales (trot, pas, galop) d’un cheval comme fondements musicaux de cette œuvre et les représente en musique, en combinaison avec sa description de la nature environnante.
