This solo work for flute and wind orchestra takes the form of musical sketches that deal with specific aspects of the flute within the orchestra, such as tone, technique, range and character. Beginning with soft tones, in due course the piece buildsaround a virtuoso motif. The orchestra also continually plays an important role by providing a harmonically and rhythmically balanced accompaniment.

In dit werk voor dwarsfluit en orkest wilde de componist alle facetten van de dwarfluit naar voren laten komen: een groot bereik, heldere klank en indrukwekkende virtuositeit. Een ritmisch en energiek thema is de rode draad door het werk, datlangzaam en zacht begint. De begeleiding speelt een actieve en belangrijke rol in het geheel.

Dieses Solowerk für Flöte und Blasorchester hat die Form von musikalischen Skizzen, die spezifische Aspekte der Flöte im Orchester herausarbeiten, wie zum Beispiel Ton, Technik, Tonumfang und Charakter. Mit sanften Tönen beginnend, baut sich dasStück im weiteren Verlauf rund um ein rhythmisches, virtuoses Motiv auf. Auch das begleitende Blasorchester spielt eine durchweg wichtige Rolle, indem es für eine harmonisch und rhythmisch ausgewogene Begleitung sorgt.

C’est la demande de sa fille Michèle, l’époque étudiante au Conservatoire de Musique de Tournai en Belgique qu’André Waignein écrivit Sketches for Flute, une oeuvre pour fl te traversière solo et orchestre (ou piano). Se présentant sousforme de scénettes, cette oeuvre met en évidence un certain nombre de facettes propres la fl te traversière notamment : sonorité, technicité, tessiture, sensibilité et caractère. Composition très agréable jouer, accompagner et… écouter.

Questo brano per flauto solo e banda è presentato sotto forma di frammenti musicali per trattare alcuni aspetti specifici dello strumento in seno ad un’orchestra, quali intonazione, tecnica, estensione e carattere. Le sonorit soavi dello strumentoche caratterizzano l’esordio del brano si trasformano in un motivo ritmico e virtuoso. L’accompagnamento orchestrale resta discreto e ponderato, garantendo però un apporto fondamentale agli equilibri del brano.
