Thomas Tallis wrote his second Psalm in 1567 as a part of his ‘Nine tunes for Archbishop Parker’s Psalter’ which was used frequently in the past as a source of inspiration. Whereas composers like Vaughan Williams or Philip Sparke actually quoted the theme and varied around it in a recognisable way, Rob Goorhuis, in his version, uses the theme more disguised at the beginning and presents it in its original form once but in a stunning and spectacular way.

Thomas Tallis schreef zijn tweede psalm in 1567, als onderdeel van zijn Nine Tunes for Archbishop Parker’s Psalter, een verzameling die in het verleden vaak als inspiratiebron is gebruikt. Waar componisten als Vaughan Williams en Philip Sparke het thema citeerden en herkenbare variaties maakten, gebruikt Rob Goorhuis het thema aan het begin in een vermomde variant en presenteert hij het één keer in zijn originele vorm, op een verrassende en spectaculaire manier.
