Fanfare for the Champions was commissioned by the municipal concert band of Landeck under the direction of Helmut Schmid on the occasion of the 375th anniversary of the band. The orchestra, which premiered Nostradamus (a key work of the composer), and which also commissioned Mantua - Freedom of the Eagle, has forged a friendship with the composer over a period of many years. This orchestra has participated in the major European competitions and has always performed with distinction—thus the title of the work Fanfare for the Champions.The fanfare, which is written in a style typical for the composer, should convey a feeling ofhappiness: the feeling to have created or accomplished something special. Don’t resist that feeling!

Otto M. Schwarz schreef Fanfare for the Champions speciaal voor het 375-jarige jubileum van Stadtkapelle Landeck. Al jaren onderhouden het orkest en de componist een vriendschappelijke band. Zo schreef Schwarz ook zijn twee andere werken, Mantua - Freedom of the Eagle en Nostradamus, voor dit orkest. Stadtkapelle Landeck presteert over het algemeen uitstekend op Europese concoursen. Niet geheel toevallig dus, dat dit werk deze welluidende titel draagt. Een bijzonder werk met een fantastische muzikale boodschap. Voor alle orkesten die iets bijzonders hebben bereikt en trots zijn op hun succes!

Fanfare for the Champions schrieb Otto M. Schwarz zum Jubiläum der Stadtkapelle Landeck, das zuvor bereits die mit Mantua - die Freiheit des Adlers und Nostradamus zwei Schlüsselwerke des Österreichers in Auftrag gegeben und uraufgeführt hatte. Eine wunderbare musikalische Botschaft “Fanfare für die Sieger“ für alle Orchester, die etwas Besonderes geleistet haben und stolz auf ihre Erfolge und ihre Geschichte sind.

Fanfare for the Champions marque l’anniversaire de l’Harmonie municipale de Landeck (Autriche). Celle-ci créa Nostradamus (une oeuvre majeure du compositeur) et commanda Mantua - Freedom of the Eagle. L’harmonie participe aux principales compétitions européennes et obtient toujours des distinctions - d’où le titre de la pièce, Fanfare for the Champions. Écrite dans un style typique du compositeur, la fanfare communique une sensation d’allégresse : le sentiment d’avoir accompli une chose extraordinaire. Ne résistez pas cette émotion !
