The Ragtime is a late nineteenth-century American music form, prior to the jazz. Ragtimes were originally made exclusively for piano and were played in clubs and bars in New Orleans, by black pianists. The style is characterized by a tight bass and melody, with a peculiar timing. This creates the feeling of ragged time. The Oldtimer Rag is a original ragtime for Concert Band by David Seeker.
