Just as the magnificent blooms of the magnolia appear in springtime, so this simple choral melody opens slowly and gracefully, eventually blossoming to a glorious climax. The delightful opening theme is taken up again, and eventually everything comesto rest, like a bud that closes at the day's end.

Zoals de prachtige bloemen van de magnolia ontluiken in de lente, zo ook bloeit deze eenvoudige koraalmelodie langzaamaan open tot een stralend hoogtepunt. Het statige openingsthema wordt vervolgens hervat, waarna alles weer tot rust komt, zoals eenbloemknop zich sluit aan het eind van de dag.

Weltbekannt ist die im 18. Jahrhundert in Florida entdeckte Magnolie, die auch Tulpenbaum genannt wird. Wie die prachtigen Bluten der Magnolie im Fruhling spriessen, so erbluht auch diese einfache Choralmelodie langsam und offnet sich zu einemstrahlenden Hohepunkt. Das erhabene Eroffnungsthema wird danach wieder aufgenommen. Dann kommt alles zur Ruhe, wie ein Knospe, die sich am Ende des Tages schliesst.

Tout comme les splendides fleurs de magnolia qui s'epanouissent au printemps, cette simple melodie chorale s'ouvre lentement, avec grace, avant de s'amplifier en une pleine floraison musicale. Puis le charmant theme initialrevient pour mener a une douce conclusion, telle une fleur qui se referme a la fin de la journee.

Proprio come le magnifiche fioriture della magnolia appaiono in primavera, cosi questa semplice melodia corale si apre lentamente e con grazia, sfociando infine in un climax glorioso. Il delizioso tema di apertura e ripreso, e alla fine tutto si ferma, come un bocciolo che si chiude alla fine della giornata.
