The celibration of the birthday of Sinterklaas is a yearly occuring event in the Netherlands, on december the 5th. Children get presents from their parents, pretended as they were given by Sinterklaas. According to the classic story, he and his helpers (Zwarte Pieten) ride along each house and throw the presents in the chimney. At least, if the child has behaved well in the last year. The children will sing at the fireplace to encourage St. Nicholas. This piece of music is a medley of a few of these songs.
