Frozen Lightis an energetic/dynamic work and the final movement of my Fusion Sonata for Violin and Piano.  It was inspired by the music of the jazz composer/guitarist/pianist: Ralph Towner and the jazz/classical group Oregon. In fact in some of the piano figures I tried to capture the picking of a guitar (as in the very opening of the piece).  At one time I had considered scoring it for oboe (or soprano sax), 12-string guitar and double bass and I might do it down the road.

The piano part is written to be really a dialogue with the violin. To keep the piano part more interesting there are a lot of different percussive figures to provide energy with the violin.  In keeping with this thought there are many different time signatures 5/8, 7/8 interspersed with the 4/4 and 6/8.

This work is for advanced players.  Length is 6 min 58 seconds.
