Composed for and inspired by the "Rainforest Recitals" at the "Rainforest Hut" in the Blue Mountains, Jamieson Valley, Katoomba, Australia in January & February 2014.
( I ) Flowers, Shapes, Colours & Cicadas.

( II ) Tall trees & The Songs of the Birds. In this movements the songs of the birds are imitated on the cello. At the first performance during a rest suddenly a bird imitated the theme - all heads went round to look at an Australian lyrebird, which just sung exactly the theme, in rhythm and pitch - one of the most chilling and exciting moments of my performing life.
