Most of the inspiration for this came from a family trip to the northern California coast near the Redwood Forest. You can use this as an exercise in contemplative expression or something to play while winding down after a long day.
This piece mostly in the D dorian mode, with smooth detours into other keys. It starts in the middle register, expands, and then returns to the middle. Chords are arpeggiated for the most part.
