Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.535390

Composed by Germaine Tailleferre. 20th Century,Opera. Octavo. 19 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #3094435. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.535390).

These two choruses are from the lyric Satire "Il était un Petit Navire",
composed in 1951 by Germaine Tailleferre to a libretto by Henri
Jeanson. The "Choeur des Coeurs" (the "Chorus of Hearts", which
makes a joke on the two similar sounding words in French) is a choral
passage which is used three times in the work, each time with different
words on the same music. It is a parody on the heroic choruses in the
Romantic Grand Opera style. "Et Patati, et Patata" ("Bla, Bla, Bla") is
at the end of the first act and is an illustration of the people of Mrseille
on the Canebière ( a famous harbour in Marseilles) who are gossiping
and fighting amongst themselves.
