Swiss composer Othmar Shoeck (1886-1957) succeeded in adopting stylistic elements of his contemporary 20th century composers while maintaining his own style of lyricism. The three violin sonatas presented on this recording reflect the direction of musical style as the 20th century progressed, from extended chromaticism to expressionistic strictness. Violinist Maristella Patuzzi performs these works with dedication and love, along with her father Mario Patuzzi.
