The title means "UFO or thinking badly of…". This work was a commission by the town of Niort, France. OVNI is an abbreviation for the Orchestre à Vent de NIort and the phrase is a play on words of the French saying honnis soit qui mal y pense!" (he who thinks evil, is evil) There is both precisely notated passages and graphically notated passages with an abundant use of clusters and repeating cells. The jazz quartet consists of piano, electric guitar, acoustic bass and drums and is incorporated into the texture of the symphonic band.
