The Friedenskirche in Stuttgart was rebuilt in 1966 as the last of the churches in the area that had been damaged by the war. The same year, the church's organ was built by Rensch in Lauffen. Volker Lutz performs on this instrument for this recording. This album contains works by Johann Schneider, Wilhelm Friedemann Bach, Johann Ludwig Krebs, and Carl Phillipp Emanuel Bach. Volker Lutz (b. 1941) is a conductor, choirmaster, organist, church music director, and professor. He is known for his organ performances, and supervises the construction of new organs in and around Stuttgart.
