Composed by Jing Liu. 20th Century,Contemporary. Individual part. 5 pages. Jing Liu #550747. Published by Jing Liu (A0.1010609).

Submitted for 2015 Areon Flutes International Chamber Music Composition Competition Dementia in F-sharp is ultimately about forgetting, and the anger that comes with the inability to remember. For reasons unknown, the note F-sharp is the center of the universe for the flutist. In increasingly agitated attempts, the flutist tries to remember, and the lines go higher and higher until the memory appears clearly, in its original form, in the middle section. But that dissolves back into agony and chaos, until the flutist repeats the opening figure for the final time--but the F-sharp is ultimately lost. JL, Jan 2015.
