In the middle section, the piece becomes moderately fast and livelier than the opening. The piece ends slowly like the beginning, but does not completely recapitulate the first movement The second piece is virtuosic throughout. The third piece is moderately slow and poised throughout. The fourth piece is mostly very energetic and virtuosic except for a scherzo-like section in the middle. The last piece starts slowly like the first piece, but grandly this time. This piece has a lot of motives from and is similar to the first movement.
