(F. Mendelssohn) (Level 4) SATB, bass and drums. "The Spinner" is the best known of the Mendelssohn piano pieces called "Songs Without Words." As one might guess from the title, it suggests the continuous spinning of thread achieved through a relentless series of 8th notes. In my arrangement the singers underline this atmosphere by using light "oo" sounds.
