Miniatures (for violin and piano) composed by Mark O’Connor was written in 1989 for his Warner Bros. Album "On The Mark." Mr. O’Connor composed the piece for his good friend and pianist John Jarvis to play with him. The two of them had recorded on many albums as session musicians in Nashville together, but this is the only duet they ever played together during that time. It is one of those pieces by O’Connor that "sticks with you" after one listens to it. The music has a unique combination of classical/popular and gospel overtones that gives an irresistible and haunting quality to the tune.
