Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.835960

Composed by John Jacob Niles. Arranged by Colleen Adent. Contemporary. Score. 7 pages. Colleen Adent #6205045. Published by Colleen Adent (A0.835960).

This late intermediate arrangement of "I Wonder as I Wander" begins with a delicate introduction of gentle, overlapping phrases exchanged between the hands. The main melody enters in the treble register above an ostinato accompaniment. As the piece progresses, rhythmic momentum is gained through eighth notes and sixteenth notes, and the texture is filled out with melodic sixths, rich chords, and sweeping arpeggios. Modulation, a powerful climax that shows off the full range of the keyboard, and a captivating coda that seems to suspend time before disappearing into ppp bass notes-these compositional features all contribute to making this an effective solo.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters.
