Composed by Felix Bartholdy Mendelssohn. Arranged by Ralph Sauer. Classical,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 68 pages. Gordon Cherry #5902569. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.811181).

Felix Mendelssohn composed the Six Songs, Opus 50 for men's chorus of four voices between 1837 and 1840. The titles are self-descriptive and each movement has a lot of character:

1. Turkish Drinking Song, 2. The Hunter's Farewell, 3. Summer Song, 4. Water Journey, 5. Hiking Song, 6. Love and Wine

Trombonists may find these lovely songs have a similar feel and character to the iconic Schubert Suite of Lieder composed also for men's chorus.

Mr. Sauer's great arrangement of the Mendelssohn Six Songs, Op. 50 for 4-part Trombone Ensemble is perfect for intermediate level performers as they are all in bass clef and of moderate range and endurance, totaling about 18 minutes of wonderful music.
