Op. 60. Composed by Henri Herz. Edited by Robert Schafer and Wilhelm Ohmen. This edition: Sheet music. (c) 2020 Schott Music GmbH & Co. KG, Mainz. Classical. Downloadable. Op. 60. 18 pages. Schott Music - Digital #Q53309. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q53309).

Among over 200 compositions by the Austrian-French pianist Henri (Heinrich) Herz there are eight piano concertos and numerous solo works such as a sonata, rondos, nocturnes, waltzes, marches, fantasias and variations. Robert Schumann regarded the music of his very successful colleague as shallow: ‘if anybody, apart from [Moritz Gottlieb] Saphir, was sincere with the people, it was Henri Herz, our compatriot. What does he want other than to entertain and so become rich?’ The attractive Variations on the Cavatina ‘Non più mesta‘ from Rossini’s opera ‘La Cenerentola’ (Cinderella) were published by Schott in 1830 (plate number 3428).
