Composed by Frederic Chopin. Arranged by Austin Harning. Contemporary,Romantic Period,Standards,World. Score and part. 6 pages. Austin Harning #4745657. Published by Austin Harning (A0.901071).

Chopin's second Piano Sonata is arguably one of the most famous of Chopin's works and is considered to be one of the best of its kind. Written in the late 1830s and published in 1840, it consists of four movements, centered around a funeral march, the third movement in this piece. In fact, when it was published, many saw the sonata as a collection of four different pieces. It is also likely that the funeral march was completed first in 1837, before the remaining three movements were written. The march is the most renowned movement in the sonata, giving the sonata its nickname.

This arrangement transposes the funeral march one whole step to C Minor, to take advantage of the viola's ringing tones.
