SKU: A0.582034

Composed by Samuel Barber. Arranged by John Gibson. Contemporary. Score and parts. 22 pages. JB Linear #4414841. Published by JB Linear (A0.582034).

"It has become that time of evening when people sit on their porches, rocking gently and talking gently....." Samuel Barber, well known for his Adagio for Strings, wrote Knoxville: Summer of 1915 for voice and orchestra. It has the same modern, but all so beautiful music that brought such fame for the Adagio for Strings. This setting for woodwind quintet by John Gibson is the beginning 3 or 4 minutes of the full piece. It is quiet, beautiful music. This transcription is for flute, oboe, clarinet in A (with an alternate Bb clarinet part), F horn, and bassoon.
