Many will recognize this traditional Mexican song which is played in many occasions. Originally composed in Aguascalientes, Mexico, "El Nino Perdido" presents a story in which a father tries to reunite with his son. By using trumpet calls, they come across each other and are happy once again. Two trumpet solos are placed in this arrangement for marching band. The first solo (being played by Trumpet I) is meant to be far away from the ensemble. After every repeat, the performer must get  closer to the ensemble. This represents the child who is looking for their father. The trumpet II solo must remain among the ensemble, as it represent the father figure who is in the crowd, calling out for their missing child. .
