She was a bit of an alcoholic ... a binge drinker.
We were in Corfu on holiday. We were about 5km away from home with enough cash to buy a drink or get a taxi.
She chose the drink, and we walked home
It took me a while to get her on her feet ... got her home ... then I walked back 5 km to get one scooter that we hired. Rode that home, then walked another 5km to get the other scooter ... I wrote the song soon after that!
