The Journey is a full Concert Band piece that starts out in a march format. Starting in Bb major, the piece goes through many different moods and textures, and modulates all over keys. It has two distinct parts, first the major section, and then into a tumultuous minor movement that introduces a wild and unpredictable edge to the classical Concert Band. In all, this piece encompasses many different melodies, parts, and rhythms, while still holding together in a coherent whole.
