Published by Steven Machamer (S0.299971).This is the timpani part for Finlandia by Sibelius as arranged by Sir Malcolm Sargent and recorded by the Vienna Philharmonic in 1966. While studying the piece in a lesson at the Juilliard School my teacher, Mr Goodman, went to his music collection and handed me this version. I have only recently rediscovered the photo copy, and now make available this historical reference to anyone who is interested. The Sargent version is more melodic, and offers a slightly more solid cadential bass line.
