Published by La Folia Music Publications (S0.234979).César Cui's last works (Opp. 104-106) were never published and are listed as lost in the Grove Dictionary of Music. The manuscript of César Cui's Petite Sonatine Op. 106 was discovered in 2012 in the National Library of Russia in St. Petersburg. It was edited for publication and is now available in print for the very first time.
The Petite Sonatine is a work in three contrasting movements. The first, an introductory movement in a moderate tempo is loosely based on sonata form. The second is a lyrical slow movement that alternates two highly contrasting sections. The third is a fast, almost virtuosic rondo (ABACA coda).
