By Claude-Michel Schonberg. Arranged by David McKeown. Score. 4 pages. Published by David McKeown (H0.219293-353970).

I Dreamed a Dream is a song from the stage musical Les Miserables, first performed in 1980. There have been numerous cover versions in the years since by artists as diverse as Aretha Franklin, Susan Boyle and the Sex Pistols. This version is arranged as a duet for two Tenor Saxophones.

Musicians at an intermediate level and above will find this ideal for formal and informal concert performances, with both parts enjoying melodic interest. The overall performance time is a little over three minutes. The short audio sample is from the Clarinet and Alto Saxophone version while the full length recording on the youtube link is the Alto Saxophone version.

Teachers will enjoy using this arrangement as a fun way to help with expressive playing. There will be opportunities to talk about the wide range of dynamics and how they might be best achieved.
