One of the 20th century's outstanding pianists, Felicja Blumental sustained a lengthy career appearing with some of the great European orchestra - the Philharmonia, RPO, LPO, LSO and Scottish National Orchestra. Blumental's repertoire was wide and adventurous as she remarkably managed to champion lesser known composers whilst also stirring admiration for her interpretations of more established composers. Blumental was greatly admired by twentieth century composers including Heitor Villa-Lobos, Lutoslawski and Penderecki, and so inspired these composers that they all dedicated now-famous works to her.
