Composed by Bob Delfausse. Concert,Contemporary,Standards. Score and parts. 33 pages. Robert Delfausse #2549345. Published by Robert Delfausse (A0.766954).

This is the final movement from my Sonata for Flute, Cello, and Guitar, which I wrote for the wonderful trio Tritonis.  The piece explores the relationships between triple and quintuple meters.  For example, the guitar begins with a driving ostinato in five, and the flute and cello play a theme in three on top of it.  Later on there is lopsided waltz, as two measures of three have trouble fitting into a single bar of 5/4.  Since these approaches sound silly, please listen to the full-length MP3 on this website, to hear if they result in convincing, attractive music.  The piece is suitable for advanced musicians. Duration: 5 minutes, 10 seconds.
