Published by Solitarius Press (S0.16794).This work was composed in 2005, originally conceived for cello and piano. It was premiered in March of that year by Anne-Vale Brittan on piano with cellist Rob Bradshaw. This edition also includes a part for Horn in F. The horn part is in the same range and concert key as the cello. Measures 43-44 require double-stopping for the cellist or the use of multiphonics for the horn player, the upper note being sung. Award-winning composer Anne-Valérie Brittan holds a Doctorate in music composition from the University of Oklahoma. A native of France, Brittan came to the US in 2002 to pursue a degree in music composition. She taught music theory classes and music appreciation at OU and presently teaches “Understanding Music” courses as well as private piano, music theory, and composition lessons. Brittan collaborated with Duo Avanzando in 2008 and her piece Landscapes is featured on their first commercial CD “Projecting Back.” Additionally, Anne-Valérie composed the music of The Downwinders, a feature film directed by Lance Brittan in 2008, and that of The Good Solider, a short film directed by Aaron Gibson in 2009. While at OU, she also wrote incidental music for several plays including Crave, Quay West, and Bent. She composed and performed the music for the play Art at St. Gregory’s University in Shawnee, OK. Anne-Valérie studied composition with Marvin Lamb, Roland Barrett, Rob Deemer, and Jason Bahr. .
