This peaceful song was inspired by the thoughts expressed in Psalm 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God" and Job 37:14 "Listen...stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God." God knew that our lives would become busy and involved and we would need to occasionally pause and listen; to refresh, recharge, reconnect. The opening theme of this piano solo arrangement echoes throughout reminding listeners to "Stand Still and Listen." The relaxed style of this instrumental piece creates a warm, pleasant ambiance whether used in a recital or as prelude music at a wedding, funeral or memorial service, or in a church setting.
