The second string quartet was composed in Boltenhagen in January 2006 and was commissioned by the chamber music series in the Mozart Hall for the Auryn Quartet. The first performance was given by the Auryn Quartet on April 6, 2006 in the Mozart Hall of the Lodge House of the Provincial Lodges of Lower Saxony in Hamburg.
