By Paul Whiteman and his Ambassador Orchestra. By Malvin Schonberger and the music to John Schonberger. Arranged by Dave Gingras and John E. Dosher. Broadway,Jazz,Musical/Show. Score. 2 pages. DAVID LEE GINGRAS #862631. Published by DAVID LEE GINGRAS (A0.1270200)."Whispering" is a popular song, first published in 1920 by Sherman, Clay & Co., of San Francisco. The initial 1920 copyright and first publishing attributes the lyrics to Malvin Schonberger and the music to John Schonberger. "Whispering" was recorded by Paul Whiteman and his Ambassador Orchestra on August 23, 1920, for the Victor Talking Machine Company at their studios in Camden, New Jersey. Ferde Grofé arranged the composition and played piano on the recording. This version was developed from the original 1920 sheet music and features a root-based chord blocking that John and I have used in many of our arrangements. We hope you like what we've done with this grand old tune!
