2020 SMP Press Composition Contest Entry for both the Contemporary and Sacred choral and instrumental ensemble categories: For this arrangement, excerpts of a piano transcription of "The Typewriter" by Leroy Anderson are combined with the children's Sunday School song, "River of Life (Spring Up, O Well)" by Louis Casebolt. It may be performed as an instrumental solo or duet on piano(s)/organ/keyboard(s), or with a children's choir or church congregation. (Note: 2020 was the 70th anniversary year of "The Typewriter", which Anderson had written in 1950 for Arthur Fiedler and The Boston Pops orchestra.) Performance time is approximately 2:20.
