A short piece I wrote while looking out the window at grey skies and pouring rain. Kind of reflects the sadness of being confined indoors, along with the optimistic viewpoint that the rain will reawaken the plant life after a long cold winter. I added oboe and bassoon because I felt they add a lot to the mood - and my flute ensemble has some multi-talented members! However, the Bassoon part is optional, and the oboe part can easily be covered by soprano flute.
