SSATB choir, Organ - Medium Difficult

SKU: PL.9508

Composed by Alun Hoddinott. Cathedral. Choral, Evensong, General. Octavo. Paraclete Press #9508. Published by Paraclete Press (PL.9508).

Alun Hoddinott uses driving rhythm in the organ and choral parts to create a jubilant anthem of praise based on Revelation 15. The choral writing is primarily homophonic. After a dramatic organ flourish, the opening treble chorus exclaims "a new song" with colorful harmonies and articulate rhythms. Detailed instsruction is given to the dynamic and shape of the phrases. Although written for Vespers, this anthem would be appropriate for general use throughout the church year.
