The second and third verses feature the men and women respectively while the fourth verse places the melody in the tenor voice. The climactic fifth verse features a descant for a few voices and the melody for the rest of the choir in unison. The harmonic setting is of interest as the second half of each verse is more chromatic in style. This anthem would be appropriate for general use as well as a choral prayer.
