This original composition is a jazz waltz which explores opposites in music, hence the name VERSUS. The Alto Saxes double on flute and there are ad lib solos for the Tenor 1 Sax; Trombone 2 and some bass bone feature. This tune explores some opposites withing the band, namely:

Heavy Swing (dotted 8ths and 16ths) vs. Triplet Swing. The latter being reversed.
Open voicing of the Guitar vs. the closed voicing of the Electric Piano.
Muted Brass vs. Open Brass.
3/4 Time Signature vs. 4/4 faux swing feel interspersed.
ppp vs. fff dynamics.
Flute (Highest Instrument Range in the Band) vs. Bass Bone (Lowest Range in the Band)
I also employed an unconventional chord progression.
